Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Better than I expected. Very well made survival film...
I read the book The One That Got Away about 3 years ago. I just saw this film based on that book and I really enjoyed it. I felt it was more realistic than the equally enjoyable Bravo Two Zero film. This film is shot like a documentary and it adds a sense of realism to the production. It's not as flashy or action-packed as Bravo Two Zero, but it is much more powerful. The acting as well as music is top notch. It's ashame that no Americans can view this great film as it is not available ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - badly portrayed
This 'film' is not as Chris Ryan intended and has since appologised in the newly revised version of 'The one that got away'. The makers took what parts of the story they liked, and disregarded what they didn't. Anyone really wanting to know this story, should read the book as it is a more reliable account of Chris Ryan's escape in Iraq.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best post WWII film
This is the best post WWII film I have seen.
It tells the strangth of SAS and weakness of a human.
It is the must for anyone who likes a realistic war film.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - critical view of SAS role in Gulf War
the interesting thing about the film of The One that Got away ' is the significant difference form the book or from Andy McNabb's acount in 'Bravo Two Zero'
The film makers almost seem to have hijacked Chris Ryan's story to emphasise discord among the troop and a cowboy attitude of some of the troopers and portrays a partially sympathetic view of the Iraqi's.
The filmakers show the savagery of war and the innocents killed and in part the futility of the whole efforts of some of these tremendously ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The One That Got Away
This is an amazingly hard hitting true story about eight men in the SAS and their bravery during the Iraq war, which I'm continually thankful for. It's fab stuff yet horrifing also for their odeal was nightmarish.
