I have purchased around 6 of these videos in total now for my younger brother, who suffers from Downsyndrome. Only so many as he has watched them so many times that the videos have worn out! It is an excellent and lively video and i wish there were more like it. As he speaks and signs i think it is perfect for all children, not only those with special needs! Highly reccommended!!!

We were first lent this video and my daughter liked is so much that we bought our own copy. I have found it really helpful too as it has taught me some more signs as I have only done the basic Makaton course. The songs are good and there is a good variety throughout the video. It is good for any child though as it contains music and lots of different settings. As usual, Dave Benson Philips is full of energy and enthusiasm!

We were recommended this for our son, who has an autistic spectrum disorder, by his Portage worker when he was three years old.
It's great fun and widely applicable as a help to communication. The songs are performed with immense gusto and I challenge anyone not to tap a toe as Dave gives it his all. My little 2 and a half year old has Down's syndrome and absolutely adores Dave - he is now making animal and tractor noises, as well as dancing (although he can't walk yet!) while watching. Dave engages with his young viewers and is very clear in his spoken and signed language. Dave has an amazing ability to make sure the child watches actively, with their whole body and all their senses, rather than vegging in front of the telly. I bought this video after I saw it on in my son's nursery. He loved it and was coming home and using makaton.
At the time we were aware that our son had some problems and we were communicating..Just. After watching this video our family have been taking makaton class and now my son is Talking as he is signing. Most people find his actions odd. I do not care he is communicating with us and the world.
