This is a good basic book for those fired by enthusiasm at car boot sales and after watching Bargain Hunt etc on TV. It gives practical advice for collectors and beginners about buying and selling, as well as useful information on how, where and when.

well, it's all very well but for the price i really expected a little more. of approx 160 pages the last 80 - yes, half the book - is an unrated list of auctions and fairs, which again is all very well, but has been covered elsewhere - and any serious buyer would presumably need to make sure they had regular updated access to auction information, such as from the antiques trade gazette, so i can't see that this list is a great help. what's more, every few pages some anodyne statement is blown up ... I have read the book seven times in the last month, once you've read it once you just want to read it again and again. The wonderful world of TV mingled in with his fascination of the world, life and bargains is a joy to all. A super read and hotly recommended.
